The Viatrix: a Cybernetic Legio lost in time.
In M41, corroborated pict-captures taken by 3 different Imperial Rogue Traders over a series of thirty years sidereal recorded crew members of a small warp-capable vessel in the Eastern Fringe. Though no record of the Viatrix has been found in Imperial libraries on Terra, the two individuals pictured here - who made direct contact with the Rogue Trader vessels - identified themselves as members of the Viatrix fleet. In all three contacts with Imperial agents, the Viatrix crew were able to produce documents of the highest classification within the adeptus mechanicus, identifying themselves as agents of Mars. Later efforts to contact the Viatrix in the region of space of last contact have been unsuccessful.
During the Great Crusade, vast fleets of Mechanicum explorators spread out through the galaxy to recover secrets lost during Old Night. One such fleet was lead by three Myrmidax priests of an orphaned Forge Fane on Xana II before the Incursion. The fleet, last observed in Imperial Records during the Great Scouring, was known to accompany the mysterious Titan Legion Legio Phasmatis and the indentured knights of House Viatorum. This Explorator Fleet was known only as the Viatrix.
